Western Water receives the highest honor
for financial excellence
Marking the 8th year of prestigious budget awards
RIVERSIDE, CA –Western Municipal Water District (Western Water) is proud to have been awarded two prestigious budget awards for its commitment to financial responsibility, exemplary government budgeting practices, and transparency.
“We are proud that two prominent financial organizations have acknowledged Western Water's dedication to financial excellence,” said Board President Mike Gardner. “The Board of Directors and the staff at Western Water are dedicated to transparency, accountability, communication, and providing top-notch financial management of public funds. This allows us to keep our promise of providing safe and dependable water and wastewater services.”
Western Water earned the Excellence in Operating Budget Award by the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) for the eighth time. CSMFO recognizes government agencies that produce a budget of the highest quality that serves as a policy document, operations guide, financial plan, and communications device.
Western Water has also received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the seventh time. This award represents the highest level of recognition for government budgeting.
