RIVERSIDE, CA – Western Municipal Water District (Western) reminds its customers to participate in the 2020 Census. The 2020 Census is happening now. You can complete your questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail.
By now, residents should have received a letter from the U.S. Census Bureau indicating how to complete the 2020 Census. Every person matters and your participation provides insurance that additional financial resources will come to the state of California. To complete the census online, visit 2020census.gov.
“We all must do our part to keep resources coming to the Inland Empire,” said General Manager Craig Miller. “Completing the 2020 Census helps provide important information about how much money is allocated to our region.”
According to the Census website, “The U.S. Constitution mandates a census of the population every 10 years. The goal of the 2020 Census is to count everyone who lives in the United States as of April 1, 2020 (Census Day). Census statistics are used to determine the number of seats each state holds in the U.S. House of Representatives and informs how billions of dollars in federal funds will be allocated by state, local and federal lawmakers annually for the next 10 years.”
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the U.S. Census Bureau has extended the self-response phase to August 14.
