Helping Our Community Prepare for Water Shortages With drought and emergency situations continuously a threat to our water supply, Western Municipal Water District has had a Water Supply Shortage Contingency Plan in place since 2009 to strategically reduce water consumption in severe circumstances. At a Public Hearing on Feb. 18, 2015, Western adopted an updated Plan as a result of the increasingly serious drought conditions and to better coordinate with the 2011 water budget rate program. What you can do to meet the Governor’s new water-use mandate The Governor has called for all Californians to increase their efficient use of water during the drought. To assist in meeting this goal, Western has enacted mandatory water-use restrictions and recommends following these additional actions for customers to lower water consumption at their home or business. |
